Nutmeg staff highlighted an action packed day at the first annual Southwest CT HMIS Stakeholders forum held at the Norwalk Community College in Norwalk, CT. The event was coordinated by the John Merz, Executive Director for the CT Aids Resource Coalition at the behest of the SW-CT HMIS Leadership Collaborative. Mr. Merz put together an action packed agenda that included presentations by Russ Cormier and James Buckley of Nutmeg Consulting, Michelle Hayes of the Cloudburst Consulting Group and Natalie Matthews of the CT Coalition to End Homelessness. Ms. Hayes, a nationally recognized expert on homelessness, reported on the state of the HMIS project at the national level and what type of results HUD is expecting from local Continuum of Care organizations. Ms Matthews, representing the statewide project sponsor, gave an inspiring presentation on the status of project at the state level and the Nutmeg team of Cormier and Buckley was able to demonstrate many positive examples from agencies in Southwest CT on how they have embraced the technology and are helping agencies move forward in not only meeting the federal requirements, but in using the system to advance their programs.
The event was well attended by members of local community that support the efforts to end homelessness in the United States.
